Big Dog was proud to be involved with two landmark projects in Fort Lauderdale.
Over 525,000 square feet of new space was added to the Broward County Convention Center, including meeting rooms and exhibition areas.
The new luxurious Omni Hotel features 800 rooms, several restaurants, a rooftop bar, an 11,000 sq. ft. spa and gym center, more than 30,000 sq. ft. pool area and 73,000 sq. ft. of reception space.
Big Dog worked under a County Business Enterprise (CBE) contract with ADF International. These projects utilized 7,804 tons of structural steel, including 13 massive trusses, each spanning 180 feet and weighing 40 tons. The trusses were successfully erected on-site with the use of two crawler cranes.
Big Dog coordinated ironworkers from 17 unions around the country. A total of 125,000 working hours were spent on these projects, with up to 100 workers onsite at any time.
