Fort Lauderdale Airport — Terminal 4 Baggage System

Big Dog was responsible for coordinating several major components of the new Baggage Handling & Inspection System (BHIS) for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Terminal 4 in the Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL).

Working under a County Business Enterprise (CBE) contract with Whiting-Turner, our team constructed the new Consolidated Baggage Inspection System Facility. This involved management and installation of new mechanical HVAC (chilled water) and plumbing systems, coordinating miles of electrical conduit threaded throughout the ceiling and walls, framing and drywall, millwork, anti-fatigue flooring, and painting.

Big Dog also worked under a CBE contract with Jordim International to install the actual Baggage Handling System. The initial stages of the project involved coordination with Daifuku on their material handling system, as well as purchase of the conveyor systems which were installed by over a dozen millwrights under our employ.
